Keyboard: INSERT

Inserts a copy of a previously drawn block entity, or inserts another drawing as a block into the current drawing.

? to list blocks in drawing ?BROWSE ?EXPLORE ?: To insert the block you previously created or inserted, press Enter (the name of the block appears between the angle brackets). To specify the block you want to insert, enter the name of the block. To display a list of existing blocks in the Prompt History window, enter ?. To insert a block that was saved to disk, choose BROWSE. To display the GreatStar ICAD Explorer, choose EXPLORE.

TIP To insert a block using the Insert Block dialog box, type ~ (tilde) before you type INSERT.

To insert a block

Enter the name of the block you want to insert.

Multiple blocks ?: Specify the insertion point for the block. To insert multiple copies of the same block, choose Multiple blocks.

Done ?XYZ ?X scale factor <1.0000>: To accept the default value displayed, press Enter, or enter the x-scale factor. To insert the block without specifying further options, choose Done. To specify the x,y,z-scale, choose XYZ, or drag the pointer.

Y scale factor: : To accept the default value displayed, press Enter, or enter the y-scale factor, or drag the pointer.

Rotation angle for block <0.0000°>: To accept the default value displayed, press Enter, or enter the rotation angle, or drag the pointer.

To specify the x,y,z scale

Choose XYZ.

Done ?Corner ?X scale factor <1.0000>: To accept the default setting, press Enter, or enter the x scale factor. To insert the block without specifying further options, choose Done. To indicate the x,y-scale by picking two points on the screen, choose Corner; when prompted, specify the other corner This method skips the prompt for a y-scale factor.

Y scale factor: : To accept the default setting, press Enter, or enter the y scale factor.

X scale is 1.0000, Y scale is 1.0000. Z scale factor: : To accept the default setting, press Enter, or enter the z scale factor.

Rotation angle for block <0°>: To accept the default value displayed, press Enter, or enter the rotation angle.

To insert a block that was saved to disk

Choose BROWSE.

The Insert Block dialog box appears. Select the block you want to insert, and then click Open.

To display the GstarCAD Explorer

Choose Explore. The GstarCAD Explorer window is displayed with the Blocks group open.
